Stop everything. Place both hands over your heart.
Say “I am here in this body. I am home”.
Repeat.

ABOUT

My name is Ilana, which means Tree and I love that. Roots were not something that always came naturally to me, wings were much easier.

Born in England, growing up in South Africa, then working all over the world, I’ve had a deep longing for home most of my life. Coupled with not having a geographical identity meant that I have felt a strange freedom of belonging both everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

I discovered human development in my early twenties and fell in love with learning and unlearning.

My life invited me to travel the world for the past 16 years, co-creating and facilitating over a thousand projects in transformation across Europe, China, India, South Africa and America - inspired by making visible the deeper connection that lives within and between us.

What I kept experiencing over and over again was our astonishing capacity as human beings to create spaces of belonging for one other, allowing all the constructed stories of who we are to dissolve and our essential natures to show up. This was the closest thing to real magic I had ever experienced.

At some point, with all wings and no roots, I burnt out.

This turned out to be an invitation for a much deeper journey inwards. And so a new chapter started, a long and profound journey back home - to myself. I had to explore much further inward than I had outward and it felt both far more treacherous and beautiful than I could have imagined.

I now work as a guide and companion for the pioneers of our time - to deepen and expand internally - so as to explore and navigate externally.

Whether through coaching, facilitating or consulting - all of my work involves playing with and encouraging the transformational presence that is seeded within and between all of us.
